This small bay averages about five feet deep. The southern portion is waist deep, the northern portion has areas well over 6. You must have a boat to cross the inter-coastal into Fisherman's cut to sail here. This place is good because its close, you can touch bottom in most places, and the wind is good. The east side of the channel markers is a bit too shallow. The bottom is muddy and grassy with some oyster shell, so be sure to wear booties. When the wind is out of the south some fair bump & jump can be found on the north side. This is an ideal spot to practice jibing or freestyle on flat water.
Fisherman's Cut is across the inter-coastal canal right in front of the Fishing Center boat ramp. After you pass through Fishermans cut you can either immediately hang a right past the half-sunken green marker and launch anywhere on the northern bank, or head southwest where the water is knee deep, anchor the boat, and rig. There is not really a bank on the south side, just marsh and grass.
